On going through the Sundara Kanda, we can observe
that the whole Sundara kanda extols the greatness of Sri Hanuma.
We can also notice that in the entire Kishkinda
Kanda and in Yuddha Kanda, Sri Hanuma acts at the orders of Sri Rama, Sugreeva,
Jambavanta, and will not show his strength unnecessarily, give unsolicited
advice, acts on his own.
He remains in the side lines, working either under
Sugreeva or Angada, as the case may be till then. When everybody got exhausted and felt
helpless, as Angada even went to the extent of resorting to fast unto death, he
started showing his real strength.
In Sundara Kanda alone, from the moment he starts
from the Vanara-s troop till his coming back to them, he shows extraordinary
wisdom, strength, celerity, fearlessness, his absolute control over senses,
etc, as the entire responsibility of finding the whereabouts of Seeta had been
kept on his shoulders.
His capacity to increase/decrease his body stature,
indicating his attaining SIDDHIS (Yogic powers), can be seen in SUNDARA KANDA. His incisive thinking, while scrutinising the
sleeping women in Lanka, with steady mind and without having any inauspicious
thoughts will be known to us.
The diplomatic way in which he approaches Seeta,
speaks with her, convinces her, the swiftness with which he eliminates many
Raakshasas, the speed with which he perplexes even the great warrior like
Indrajit, etc, can be seen in this Kanda.
