The popular belief/talk prevalent is that Sita was older to Sri Rama
but no evidence has been put forth by the propagators of the above
belief.
However, Srimad Ramayana tells a different
version. In the Aranya Kanda of Srimad Ramayana, Seeta herself
stated that she was younger to Sri Rama by the time they departed from
Ayodhya.मम भर्ता महातेजा वयसा पंच विंशकः ||
अष्टा दश हि वर्षाणि मम जन्मनि गण्यते | (Aranya Kanda 47th Sarga 10th sloka)
"My great-resplendent husband was of twenty-five years of age at that time, and to me eighteen years are reckoned up from my birth."
